Fixed and published, GTM v18 (+ v19 for the floating pill) — 2026-09-19: root cause found and corrected. cta_id used to be computed by a separate GTM variable that fell back across 3 dataLayer keys written by different, separate pushes. Tag 27 now computes cta_id inline, and Tag 8 reads that value straight from the push. The floating "Book a Call" pill (Tag 41) was merged into this same system as a new floating section. Live-verification pending CDN propagation at time of writing — the constellation below still shows the pre-fix data used to diagnose the bug.

Pre-fix snapshot (2026-09-19, before GTM v18/v19): only 30% of that day's real cta_click events carried a matching cta_id, 52% fired with none at all, 19% were malformed (doubled action slug). This is the exact data that led to the fix above — the before-picture, not current state.
